The Birth of The Nappy Pouch™ Tired of lugging an oversized nappy bag around every time I went out, and never being able to find anything amongst the clutter, I knew there had to be a better way. I was always juggling with too much stuff and not enough hands! I knew all I really needed for a trip out was the necessities - a few nappies, some wipes and a clean change mat for quick changes on the go, but finding something that was small, compact and stylish was impossible. I wanted something that was soft on my baby's skin instead of sticky plastic, 100% cotton and completely machine washable - nothing! In frustration I designed a pouch and matching change mat that fitted into my handbag, and in the process eliminated that traditional large, cumbersome nappy bag to carry - it was perfect. What I didn't know was there were Mum's and Dad's everywhere calling out for the same thing. Every time I used it people would stop me and want to know where to buy one. Everyone from my Mum's group to people out and about loved it and wanted one - so I got sewing and the orders flooded it. I knew I couldn't keep up with the orders and realised I had come up with an exciting new product. I patented the idea, found stylish 100% cotton fabrics, found a manufacturer in Australia, and the rest they say is history!
